It's an application for Smart Phones (Android and IOS) that allows to send geolocated SOS messages to a set of select contacts. It also allows for sending enriched context information to help improve the assessment of the emergency situation, to promote a quicker and smarter incident response from your acquaintances or from law enforcement agents.
The alert SOS can be triggered with three different stealth mechanisms: manual, deferred and geographic. The three of them can be used, without the offender ever knowing that a SOS is being activated.
SOS messages stop either when the user enters the legitimate deactivation PIN to signal the end of the distressing situation or when the phone is turned off. In the last case, whenever the phone is powered up again, the messages will resume even if the SIM card was changed in the phone.
PerSOS Pro can deliver geolocation, pictures, audio, battery level and moving speed via SMS, e-mail, IM, Twitter & Facebook.
PerSOS Pro permits remote authorized activation (requires a PIN), useful in the case of device theft or loss.
Internet access (GPRS, 3/4 G or WiFi) is required for sending e-mail, IM or posting to Facebook or Twitter. Without this capability, the only alerting mechanism left would be SMS, through which only geolocation information could be relayed (photos or audio clips will be stored locally).
If an SOS message is received on a phone with PerSOS Pro installed, a notification will show up. When tapping on it, a geolocated mark will be stored in the local database and its location will be shown on the tracking map. The difference in using PerSOS's tracking map instead of Google Maps is twofold: firstly you can keep record of successive events, and secondly, additional information will be interpreted and shown in the tracking map (like remaining battery level, moving speed, etc).
PerSOS Pro allows to activate remote tracking with the corresponding authorization PIN.
Additionally, PerSOS Pro is a privacy-respecting application: SOS messages are kept private between communicating parties.
